US Federal Resources

USDA Food Assistance Programs provides critical nutrition assistance through Food and Nutrition Administration (FNA) programs that include child nutrition programs, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and emergency food assistance among many other programs like the ones below:

  • SUN Bucks (Summer EBT): Provides eligible school-aged children with grocery benefits during the summer months when school meals are not available. Click here for more information and how to apply.

  • The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP): Provides emergency food and nutrition assistance at no cost to low-income Americans through local food banks and pantries. Click here for more information and how to apply.

  • Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP/Senior Food Boxes): Works to improve the health of low-income elderly persons at least 60 years of age by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA foods. Click here for more information and how to apply.

  • Federal Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP): Provides reimbursements for nutritious meals and snacks to eligible children and adults who are enrolled for care at participating child care centers, day care homes, and adult day care centers. Maryland State Resources

The State of Maryland administers key food support programs. The Office of Delegate Marlon Amprey has direct oversight with state agencies and can help advocate on your behalf if you run into issues with state-level applications.
